Unveiling The Secrets Of Drag Racing A Hellcat:

Tips And Tricks For Beginners

As I brainstormed this month’s tech article, I pondered what our readers might find intriguing or beneficial. One idea that stood out was offering some insights into the world of drag racing, particularly for beginners. Having been through the nerve-wracking experience of learning to race myself, I understand the apprehension and fear that can come with stepping onto the track for the first time. It’s daunting, to say the least, especially when you’re faced with crowded lanes and limited time to practice.

One invaluable piece of advice I’d like to impart, whether you’re a novice or a seasoned racer, is to seek out private testing opportunities. These sessions provide a more controlled and relaxed environment for honing your skills and gaining confidence behind the wheel.

Over the years, racing Charger and Challenger Hellcats has taught me a few tricks that can significantly improve your drag racing experience. Let’s dive into some of these techniques.

TIRE PRESSURE

First up, tire pressure. I typically max out the pressure in the frontrunner, sticking to the manufacturer’s recommendation of 40 psi for my Hoosier tires. For the rear, the majority of my experience is with a MT radial. Either the Street R or ET Street Radial Pro. I have had the best luck with around 21 psi. On both the Demon and Hellcat I run 21.5 in the rear on a Street R. Once I can get the tire to hook on a decent surface, I will typically change pressure a half a psi at a time and watch the video as well as 60 foot time without changing anything else. These cars are heavy and they tend to wad the tire pretty bad at lower pressures. I know many people will argue 19 or even 17 on this tire on one of these cars but I’d be willing to bet if they watched a slow-motion video of the tire they would see it wads quite a bit. I have personally had the best luck between 20.5 and 21.5 on either of those two tires.

LAUNCH RPM

On a stock Hellcat converter and 2.4 IHI I ended up settling at 1250 through extensive testing in the blue car. Once I got pressure dialed in, I spent almost an entire day varying launch rpm. 1250 is what I found delivered the best 60 foot on that setup. On demon/redeye combos that rpm tends to be 1400. I’ve found the same on my 170. I tried everything from 1000 to 1800 and the car would 60 the best at 1400.

BURNOUT TECHNIQUE

First and foremost, when I roll into the box, the first thing I’m looking for is where I want to line up. In a radial car on a radial prepped surface, I’m typically looking for a little bit of shine just left or right of the groove.

I’ll then roll through the water box lined up with those marks. I do not like to spin the tire over in the box. I’ve found that’s not necessary and can often sling water up into the inner fenders that may drop down on the surface or tire later.

If the car has a 3.09 with a 29.5 in tall tire or so, I typically start my burnout in 1st and shift up into 3rd to get some wheel speed. You want to get the tire spinning right away with some heavy throttle and then back the throttle down a tad. The differentials in these cars can burn up from just one bad burnout, and whacking the throttle initially to get both tires spinning is the best thing you can do to prevent that. I like to take my driver’s side mirror and point it at the tire and watch it. Once I see the tire start to smoke a bit, I let off the brake and start easing up on the throttle right until the tire catches rolling out of the box.

If you want to get a little extra glue, try and keep the car straight and go through the tire lines you had in your mind at the beginning of the burnout through the beams to try and pick up a little bit. Then roll straight back through your tire tracks past the beams and get ready to stage.

STAGING

Before I go to hit the first beam I like to give everything one last check. Seatbelt on. Face mask shut. Gloves on. Vehicle is in the right mode. Intercooler on. Etc.

Once I have everything ready I will nudge up until I hit the first beam and hit the brake hard. You don’t want to accidentally roll into the second beam. Then with my left foot I hold the brake firmly and I stall the vehicle up with my right foot to the desired launch rpm. Do this while still in the first beam. I then use my left foot on the brake to bump myself into the second beam. Just letting up on the brake pedal slightly by bumping it. At that point I’m already stalled up and ready to launch at any moment. From there, release the brake on the last yellow on a sportsman or as soon as you see yellow on a pro tree.

Of course, there’s much more to drag racing than can be covered in one article. Variables like gear and tire size will influence your approach. However, these basic techniques should provide a solid foundation for beginners looking to dip their toes into the exhilarating world of drag racing. With practice, patience, and a willingness to learn, you’ll be tearing up the track in no time.

Testing and Triumph’s at Bradenton Motorsports Park

This month, our team embarked on an exciting two-week testing adventure at Bradenton Motorsports, aiming to fine-tune our setups and push the limits of performance. In the first week, we teamed up with the folks from TNA Motorsports, bringing along a fleet of high-performance vehicles to put through their paces.

Among our lineup was a Durango Hellcat boasting a built stroker motor and a formidable 3.8 Whipple supercharger, along with two Trackhawks equipped with similar setups. However, our enthusiasm was met with a hiccup as all three vehicles experienced rear-end issues during testing. Two of them suffered broken ring gears, while the third encountered a broken housing on the new billet differential. It became apparent that the combination of the 3.8 Whipple and the weight of these vehicles proved to be too much for the stock differential.

Undeterred by the setbacks, we immediately initiated discussions with the company responsible for manufacturing the billet differentials, seeking ways to enhance the design and address the underlying issues. Our goal is to develop a robust solution that will withstand the rigors of drag racing, particularly for vehicles with the kind of torque that these ones produce.

In the following week of testing, our focus shifted to fine-tuning the Demon 170, with the aim of perfecting the tune for the stock setup. Despite facing challenges, including struggles with the 60-foot launch in second gear, we remained committed to pushing the boundaries of performance. Through rigorous testing and meticulous adjustments, we managed to achieve several more 8-second passes, with our best ET clocking in at an impressive 8.94.

As we continue to refine our setups and explore innovative solutions, one particular area of consideration is the launch strategy. While we’ve experimented with launching in second gear, we’re having trouble getting the 60 foot down to what is capable in first. We’re evaluating the possibility of reverting to a first-gear launch, although past experiences have shown mixed results due to the intense forces involved leading to inconsistent launches and broken driveshafts. If you talk to any 170 owner who has raced their vehicle, most of them have experienced similar issues. We have been able to go quicker to the quarter mile with a slower 60 foot launching in 2nd than a comparable stock 170, all while launching consistently and not breaking. Maybe the slower 60 foot is worth the trade-off?

Despite the challenges encountered during testing, our team remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of performance and overcoming obstacles through innovation and collaboration. Stay tuned as we strive to elevate the capabilities of our vehicles and deliver exceptional performance on and off the track.

Is Imitation the Sincerest Form of Flattery?:

How the Demon 170 Feels oddly similar to what we have been doing in the aftermarket for years

Finally getting my hands on our Demon 170 was an exciting moment. I couldn’t wait to dig into this car and learn from what the factory had done in its last iteration of this platform. There is always so much to learn from how they approach and solve problems, and I always enjoy learning from it. As I dug into the car, déjà vu hit. Something about this car reminded me of our 2020 car, and the further I dug almost everything did. When I built that car my goal was to go as fast as we could on as close to a stock car as possible. We were eventually able to go 8.76 at 154 with a 6.2 engine, stock heads, cam, 2.4 ihi, full exhaust, stock trans, etc…. The list goes on. Aside from having put an upgraded rod and piston in it, in preparation for future plans, it was a bolt-on car that would go a-to-b every time without breaking and consistently run 8.7-8.9. Was the factory watching? Has the factory been watching all of the aftermarket? It certainly feels like it.

The blue car was roughly 100 lbs lighter than the Demon 170 but that’s about where the dissimilarities end. It had a 3.09 gear, a 29.5 tall tire, and it made right at 22psi on a 2.64/ati/ported blower combo. All nearly identical specs to the demon 170. The similarities between the two cars, the more I think about it, are staggering and I think in a lot of ways that is what makes the 170 great. That was my favorite iteration of that car, and I often regret changing it from that point. It would go down the track every time, it never broke, it was drama-free, and it was just plain fun to race. Now imagine all of that with a factory warranty.

The one drawback we’re seeing already with the 170’s is the launch. They leave HARD. They have to, to run the number on a street-safe tune-up and at the weight they are. They need a sub 1.25 60 to click off an 8.99. Having done some tuning on one, it’s difficult to imagine we are going to make significant strides in ET, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t improvements to be made. The launch is breaking drive shafts already, and they are extremely difficult to get to launch consistently. All issues easily addressed when you’ve done this exact same thing before. Leaning into what we’ve done in the past that worked can help us to improve upon these cars and get them to be more fun to drive as well as more consistent at the track, which matters if you want to do more than just chase ET and actually win some races.

Brett Smiths’ Go Mango Marvel:

Track-Ready Power Unleashed in his 2018 Challenger Hellcat

Brett Smith’s Journey to Speed: From Scat Pack to Hellcat

From his earliest memories, Brett Smith’s fascination with cars and the pursuit of speed has been a defining aspect of his passion. In 2015, he acquired a 2015 Scat Pack Charger, a car that quickly became a source of absolute love. Regular trips to the drag strip with his Dad and close friends, Simon and Al, who all happened to own Hellcats, fueled Brett’s desire for the iconic muscle car.

As the desire for a Hellcat intensified, life threw an unexpected curveball. News of expecting another baby prompted Brett and his wife to reassess their vehicle choices. The Scat, serving as Brett’s daily driver, was no longer suitable for their expanding family. A spontaneous decision at the dealer, where he was supposed to be purchasing a family car, resulted in Brett filling out an order sheet for a 2018 Hellcat Challenger. It’s safe to say Brett’s wife wasn’t initially thrilled with his decision making.

During the waiting period for his Challenger to be built, Simon became Brett’s automotive mentor, offering daily “to-do” lists that often began with a resolute directive: “don’t mess around, just call Curt and have him send you what you need.” Taking Simon’s advice to heart, a month before taking delivery of his Hellcat, Brett engaged Curt at Dusterhoff Racing. The shopping list included a Fore double fuel pump system, injectors, a 2.72 upper pulley, ATI lower pulley, and FI chiller spacers. Remarkably, the parts arrived before the car itself.

With approximately 600 miles under its belt and a few exhilarating passes down the strip, Brett’s Hellcat underwent a transformation in his one-car garage. The new components, carefully selected with Curt’s expertise, were seamlessly integrated. Curt’s guidance ensured that Brett’s Hellcat was primed and ready for track action that very weekend. The initiation into the world of track racing occurred in 2019, with Brett clocking an impressive 9.71 @141 MPH.

Following the success of the initial setup, Brett reached out to Curt at Dusterhoff Racing to embark on a new chapter of enhancements. Collaborating closely, they meticulously spec’d out the details of the new setup, putting together a comprehensive plan for the build. From selecting performance components to fine-tuning every detail, the partnership with Dusterhoff Racing marked a pivotal moment in Brett’s journey.

Gearing Up for the 8-Second Milestone: Sick Week 2024

Subsequent revisions and favorable weather conditions led to a remarkable 9.21@150. A friendly competition brewed with Brett’s buddy Simon, who was pushing his red eye to its limits. Both of them had their sights set on breaking into the coveted 8-second range. A determined call to Curt solidified a strategic game plan.

Remarkably, with no trailer in tow, Brett’s first set-up endured a whopping 4,400 miles—commuting during the week and racing on the weekends. Despite the power surge from over 100 passes, Brett’s Hellcat retained its street-friendly demeanor. As Sick Week 2024 approaches, Brett stands at the precipice of his inaugural track run with the new setup.

The prospect of achieving the long-awaited 8-second milestone is undeniably thrilling. However, amidst the excitement, a tinge of melancholy sets in, knowing that his friend Simon won’t be there to share in the celebration or competition. Unfortunately, Simon, a staple in the Gen 3 Hemi community, passed away before he could see Brett achieve his goal. His journey to the elusive 8.xx is poised on the edge of accomplishment and reflection.

Testing and Triumph’s at Bradenton Motorsports Park

The team finally descended upon Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida, for a week of rigorous testing. Despite early battles with rain and traction issues, the crew’s persistence paid off as we seized the opportunity to put the Demon 170 and Brian Moore’s 17 Charger Hellcat to the test.

The Demon 170 presented a unique challenge, requiring the team to invest time in unlocking consistent launch power. After overcoming initial hurdles, the Demon delivered five impressive 8-second passes on Saturday. The pinnacle was reached with a remarkable 8.92 at 152 mph, showcasing the team’s mastery over launch intricacies, evident in the Demon’s 1.27 60-foot time.

Brian Moore’s 17 Charger Hellcat faced similar hurdles, dealing with the complexities of managing power and weight on an IRS car equipped with a 275 tire. With strategic coilover adjustments and tuning tweaks, the team successfully navigated these challenges. Slowly reintroducing power into the equation, Brian’s Hellcat triumphed with a best run of 8.22 at an impressive 165 mph, all achieved in nearly 2000 DA.

However, aspirations to break into the 8.0 or even 7.9x territory on Saturday were met with mechanical challenges. While these hurdles prevented the desired attempt, they serve as a testament to the unpredictable nature of high-performance racing. Undeterred, the team remains resolute in their pursuit, ready to address and fix the issues to get Brian’s car into that elusive 7.9x territory.

As we reflect on the week’s testing and triumphs, our commitment to addressing mechanical challenges and fine-tuning setups remains unwavering. The quest for improved ET continues, and with each obstacle faced, the team not only grows more resilient and determined, but also gains more knowledge on how to best mitigate some of the most common issues that will afflict all of our customers. Stay tuned as they gear up to conquer future challenges and push the boundaries of speed and performance.

A Conversation with Jesse Kloth of SDG Motorsports

Get ready to dive into the engine bays and unleash the secrets of high-performance engineering! In this exclusive interview, Curt Dusterhoff of Dusterhoff Racing sits down with Jesse Kloth of SDG Motorsports, taking you on a thrilling journey through the intricate world of IHI blowers.

Buckle up as we explore the nuances of IHI blowers, dissecting their strengths, addressing common concerns, and unveiling the distinctive features that set SDG Motorsports apart in the competitive market. This candid conversation between two industry experts promises to be a riveting ride for gearheads and racing enthusiasts alike.

Curt Dusterhoff: Thank you, Jesse, for joining us. To kick things off, can you provide an overall review of IHI blowers, highlighting their strengths and areas for improvement?

Jesse Kloth: Absolutely. In my experience, IHI blowers, especially the screw compressors, have tight clearances and high speeds. Bearing specification and installation are critical. Improper replacement specs or installation lead to instant failures. It’s a myth that frequent bearing replacement is needed for “race applications.” Genuine failures are rare, and noisy units in early models were addressed with a part number change around 2017.

Curt Dusterhoff: Bearing failures are a concern. What are the common causes, and how can owners prevent them?

Jesse Kloth: Improper bearing replacement and installation are top causes. The IHI screw compressors demand precise handling. Noisy units don’t necessarily signal failure; often, it’s a finish issue. Using quality bearings is key; shops claiming frequent replacements may lack confidence in their procedures.

Curt Dusterhoff: Blower failures are setbacks. What are common reasons, and how can owners address them?

Jesse Kloth: Rotor speed is critical. Increased speeds raise temperatures, affecting rotor and air. Aluminum rotors have limits; keeping speeds around 19,000rpm (female rotor) ensures longevity.

Curt Dusterhoff: In a competitive market, what sets SDG Motorsports apart regarding IHI blowers?

Jesse Kloth: Quality comes first. We prioritize quality over quantity and focus on what makes sense for the market. Extensive engineering ensures our products are top-tier in performance and quality.

Curt Dusterhoff: What are safe blower speeds for the 2.4, 2.7, and 3.0 IHI blowers, and what considerations should owners keep in mind?

Jesse Kloth: Safe speeds stay below 19,000rpm (female rotor). The 2.38L lasts longer due to its design compared to the 2.7L and 3.0L.

Curt Dusterhoff: Regarding porting IHI blowers, what areas provide performance gains?

Jesse Kloth: SDG focuses on component upgrades over casting modifications. Porting existing castings doesn’t yield significant benefits. We use better materials and R&D to enhance strength and airflow, providing the best components for the Hellcat platform.

Curt Dusterhoff: Beyond technical aspects, what interests Hellcat owners about IHI blowers?

Jesse Kloth: The Hellcat experience is already fantastic, but our products enhance the “go” part, making it more extreme and enjoyable for Hellcat owners.

Curt Dusterhoff: Thanks for your time, Jesse. I appreciate you providing some insight into many of these topics and hopefully, our readers do as well.

A Conversation with Dustin Whipple

Welcome, automotive enthusiasts! Today, we have the privilege of delving into the dynamic world of high-performance superchargers with none other than Dustin Whipple, the visionary owner of Whipple Superchargers. Known for their relentless pursuit of power and innovation, Whipple Superchargers has long been a trailblazer in the industry, consistently pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

In this exclusive interview with Dustin Whipple, we explore the triumphs and challenges faced by Whipple Superchargers, particularly in light of the Gen 5 Hellcat superchargers. Join us as we navigate through the highs and lows, gaining valuable insights into the lessons learned, corrective actions taken, and the exciting advancements heralded by the new Gen 6 supercharger lineup for Hellcats.

Fasten your seatbelts and get ready for an engaging conversation with a key figure in the automotive world. Let’s dive into the heart of supercharger technology and innovation with the driving force behind Whipple Superchargers, Dustin Whipple himself.

Curt Dusterhoff – “Whipple Superchargers has a strong, long-standing reputation in the industry for high-performance automotive products. Can you share with our audience some of the key successes and achievements that Whipple Superchargers has had recently?”

Dustin Whipple – “In the supercharging industry, few stories are as compelling as the rise of Whipple Superchargers. From the modest foundation of a two-person operation, our family-owned powerhouse has expanded to a team of over 80 dedicated employees. Over the last 35 years, Whipple has not just grown in numbers but also in stature, adding a substantial 60,000 square feet to their facility to boost their assembly and manufacturing capabilities.

This expansion reflects more than just physical growth; it symbolizes a transformation from merely importing superchargers and creating kits, to innovating and producing entire supercharging systems in-house. This shift has enabled Whipple to craft the latest integrated solutions tailored to a multitude of applications, pushing the envelope of what’s possible in supercharging technology.

The journey of continuous development and innovation has been nothing short of inspirational. With each passing year, we’ve introduced newer and more sophisticated solutions that have propelled the entire industry forward. It’s this pioneering spirit that has kept us at the forefront, shaping the future of supercharging.

Maintaining our status as a family-owned and operated entity, Whipple has resisted the siren call of private equity. This independence is the cornerstone of our philosophy, allowing us to remain agile and responsive to market needs, to build products driven by passion and insight, and to continue evolving in the direction that aligns with our vision.

As Whipple Superchargers surpasses 35 years of operation, we stand as a testament to innovation, growth, and the unyielding spirit of a family business that’s made a monumental impact on the supercharging landscape.”

Curt Dusterhoff – “I’ve heard exciting things about the new Gen 6 Whipple supercharger lineup for Hellcats. Could you tell us more about the advancements and innovations that Whipple has introduced with this new generation of superchargers?”

Dustin Whipple – “Our journey towards the creation of the 5th generation Whipple supercharger was driven by a vision to break new ground, yet the extraordinary performance enhancements it yielded surpassed even our own expectations. These advancements overshadowed the already popular Gen 3 and Gen 4 models, which was a remarkable feat in itself.

As we embarked on this venture, we were charting a fresh course without a predefined endpoint. The development of the 6th generation supercharger was an evolution, a culmination of years of meticulous research and application across a wide spectrum of engine platforms. This generation represents a significant leap in supercharger technology, achieving marked improvements in efficiency throughout the entire operational range.

With the Gen 6, we’ve managed to not only enhance flow but also simultaneously reduce power consumption and operational temperatures. These advancements have translated into considerable performance gains that are as evident in a standard GM truck at 6psi as they are in a highly tuned race-engineered 30psi Hellcat.

The redesigned port of the Gen 6 supercharger is a game-changer. It challenges the conventional wisdom around porting, with its as-cast shape that delivers performance without compromise. This design ensures that there is no sacrifice in low-rpm power delivery while continuing to provide increased flow as the rpm climbs, effectively setting a new benchmark for supercharger performance.”

Curt Dusterhoff – “Every product faces its own unique challenges. Could you shed some light on the issues that were encountered with the Gen 5 Hellcat superchargers? What were the main reasons for the failures customers were experiencing?”

Dustin Whipple – “In addressing the concerns raised about the 5th generation supercharger, it’s crucial to differentiate between perceived issues and actual problems. Since its introduction in late 2017, the 5th generation supercharger has been remarkably issue-free. Adapting it to the Hemi and Hellcat platforms required specific design modifications, particularly for the casting, to ensure compatibility with these vehicles, as opposed to the Ford applications.

The timing of the product’s launch coincided with the onset of Covid, which had a profound impact on manufacturing processes both in the U.S. and internationally. This unfortunate coincidence resulted in significant challenges, as our vendors struggled to meet their lead times, thereby exerting pressure on both us and our dealers. However, once we commenced shipping, the product itself exhibited no significant concerns.

The uniqueness of the Hellcat applications, often subject to modifications, did bring to light some issues. Initially, problems arose due to improperly designed nitrous spacers. The o-rings provided by the vendors did not accommodate the crush of the 32 o-rings, leading to substantial distortion in our housing. Additionally, modifications such as welding nitrous spray bars resulted in warping of the runners, which in turn warped the rotor housing during installation.

Further investigation revealed that the paper intake gaskets we supplied exacerbated these issues. This was especially problematic due to the unique bolt pattern of the Hellcat, allowing potential flex in the runners. Such distortion could displace the bearing locations from their designed positions, resulting in premature failure.

While there have been a few instances of parts having quality control issues, these have been consistently addressed and warranted. It’s also important to clarify the difference between “failure” and “noise at idle.” Failure implies the component ceases to function, which has been a rare occurrence. The primary concern we’ve focused on addressing is noise at idle, which, while annoying, does not constitute a failure. Whether it’s noise or some other form of failure, we are fully committed to standing behind our product to ensure our customers enjoy massive power without any concerns.”

Curt Dusterhoff – “In light of those challenges, what did Whipple Superchargers learn from the failures on the Gen 5 Hellcat superchargers? How did those experiences shape your approach to future product development?”

Dustin Whipple – “The challenges we’ve faced have been a catalyst for substantial improvements across various facets of our operation at Whipple Superchargers. They’ve propelled us to invest significantly in enhancing our quality control processes, refining our tolerance designs, deepening our relationships with vendors, and reevaluating our design criteria for future supercharger models.

1. Intensified Quality Control (QC) Measures: Recognizing the pivotal role of QC in ensuring product reliability and customer satisfaction, we’ve made considerable investments in enhancing our QC processes. This includes implementing more rigorous testing protocols and introducing comprehensive inspections, particularly for our high-performance models like the Hellcat. This ensures every component adheres to our exacting standards.

2. Refined Tolerance Design: The challenges have led us to a thorough reassessment of our tolerance designs. We’ve tightened these specifications to enhance the precision and efficiency of our superchargers, resulting in improved performance and reliability.

3. Strengthened Vendor Relationships: Understanding the capabilities and limitations of our vendors is crucial. We’ve invested time and resources into building stronger, more collaborative relationships with our suppliers. This approach has not only improved the quality of the components we receive but has also enhanced our overall supply chain resilience.

4. Revolutionized Design Criteria: The experiences have also driven us to rethink our design criteria for future supercharger models. We are now placing an even greater emphasis on innovation, efficiency, and adaptability in our designs, ensuring that our future products will continue to set industry standards.

These investments and changes are not just responses to past challenges; they represent our commitment to continuous improvement and our dedication to maintaining our position as leaders in the supercharging industry.”

Curt Dusterhoff – “Considering the setbacks, what specific measures has Whipple taken to address the Gen 5 Hellcat supercharger issues? Could you elaborate on the steps being taken to remedy the situation?”

Dustin Whipple – “In response to the challenges we’ve encountered, our team has implemented several key enhancements to our latest Gen 5 and Gen 6 3.0L models. These improvements are a testament to our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction:

1. Updated Input Shaft and Bearing Type: We’ve innovatively redesigned the input shaft and incorporated a new bearing type in our latest models. This update is specifically engineered to significantly reduce operational noise, ensuring a smoother and quieter performance. This enhancement not only improves the acoustic comfort but also contributes to the overall mechanical efficiency of the supercharger.

2. Auxiliary Idler Design: Our research and development team has made a groundbreaking discovery with the auxiliary idler. The new design of this component plays a crucial role in minimizing noise by effectively isolating the tensioner movement from the supercharger pulley. This isolation leads to a substantial reduction in vibrational noise and enhances the stability of the supercharger system.

3. Tighter Tolerances with Casting Vendor: Recognizing the importance of precision in supercharger performance, we have collaborated closely with our casting vendor to tighten manufacturing tolerances. This step is pivotal in elevating the consistency and reliability of our superchargers. By refining these tolerances, we ensure that each supercharger we produce meets the highest standards of quality and performance.

4. 100% Inspection on Major Components for the Hellcat: In our ongoing efforts to further improve reliability, especially for the high-performance Hellcat models, we have instituted a 100% inspection protocol for all major components. This rigorous quality control process ensures that every part meets our stringent standards before it is integrated into the supercharger system. This added layer of scrutiny greatly enhances the reliability and performance of our products, providing our customers with the utmost confidence in their supercharger’s capabilities.

These targeted improvements are part of our ongoing effort to address the challenges head-on and to continuously evolve our products. By integrating these advancements, we are setting new benchmarks in the supercharger industry, ensuring that our customers receive the most refined, efficient, and powerful supercharging solutions on the market.”

Curt Dusterhoff – “It’s great to hear that Whipple Superchargers is proactively addressing these concerns. Moving forward, what improvements can enthusiasts and customers expect in current and future Whipple superchargers? Are there any exciting features you can highlight?”

Dustin Whipple – “In response to the evolving needs of our customers and the dynamic nature of the supercharging market, we at Whipple Superchargers have initiated a series of comprehensive updates and innovations. Our focus has been on refining our current designs and developing an entirely new design that encapsulates numerous improvements. These enhancements

are specifically tailored to meet the diverse performance goals and power combinations our customer’s desire.

One of the key updates in our current lineup includes significant enhancements to our 6th generation supercharger design. The Gen 6 Whipple twin-screw rotors, the core component of our superchargers, have been re-engineered to offer superior performance over previous generations. In addition to these advancements, we’ve redesigned our supercharger housing. The new housing not only boosts performance but also simplifies the assembly and installation process, making it more efficient and user-friendly.

Through these developments, we’re not just keeping pace with industry trends; we’re actively shaping the future of supercharging. Our goal is to continuously provide our customers with cutting-edge technology and unmatched performance, and these updates are a testament to that commitment. By continually pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, we aim to set new standards in performance and efficiency, ensuring our customers always have access to the very best in supercharging technology.”

It is with immense pleasure that I’m reaching out to share some exciting updates from Dusterhoff Racing, and to express our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support since the inception of our business in 2019.

Since our humble beginnings, Dusterhoff Racing has undergone a remarkable journey in the performance industry. Today I am thrilled to announce that our journey has brought us to several significant milestones for Dusterhoff Racing. In line with our growth and the comprehensive range of services that we now offer, we have rebranded from Dusterhoff Tuning to Dusterhoff Racing. This change represents our dedication to providing holistic performance solutions that go beyond just tuning.

Looking ahead, our goal is to provide world-class installations, faster and more efficient tuning services, an extensive parts inventory, and the introduction of additional platforms. We are also strongly considering opening additional locations across the country, enabling us to better serve enthusiasts like you closer to home.

We are deeply grateful for the trust that you have placed in us. As we embark on this next chapter, please know that your satisfaction and trust remain at the core of our mission. Thank you for your continued support, and for being an essential part of the Dusterhoff Racing family!
